At the time of this posting, the weather is supposed to be good on Saturday with possible rain Sunday.  If that's the way it turns out, it might be good to plan for Saturday and if it's nice you can shoot both days.  The second day on the same stages will have to improve everyone's scores but mine (I'm beyond help).  Pray hard that we get both days in as Dice has somehow got Dolly to volunteer to do the cooking Sunday.  (As if all of Dolly's [AKA Barb] work checking everyone in before the shoot and cleaning out our trailer isn't enough work.)  I'm thinking that I might come out or drive to his house on Sunday just for the eats if we don't shoot.

So tell Kocheese "No Rain Dances!" and come out both days, weather permitting.

Just checked Weather.com.  Plugged in Darien for this weekend.  Forecast for this coming weekend as of 3:45 PM on Monday, June 12 is as follows:  (of course, we all know, it may not be accurate nor hold true by then ...  :D )

Friday, June 16 - Hi of 84; low of 69; 30% chance of rain; isolated T-Storms
Saturday, June 17 - Hi of 90; low of 71; 20% chance of rain; partly cloudy
Sunday, June 18 - Hi of 91; low of 68; 20% chance of rain; mostly sunny

Sounds like it may not be wet but will surely be HOT!!!!!!!

Just checked again today and it looks like MGS is closer to what they're calling for now.  Hot and very liminted chance of rain.  Plan on being there both days just to watch Dice sweat.  He "leaks" as much or more than I do (I sweat watching TV).

I've just appointed Muddy as chair of the weather committee since Wolf resigned after one match (it's a difficult job!). Muddy was chosen because he at least gives the appearance of being knowledgeable, a characteristic many of us lack.

It is now Muddy's sworn duty to provide us with the finest of match weather. Please let him know your weather desires and I'm certain he'll make your wishes come true!

Weather forecast - Darien over the weekend, as of 1 PM on Friday--

Friday - High of 92, low of 72; 30% chance of precip.; scattered T-Storms
Saturday - High of 90, low of 69; 20% chance of precip.; mostly sunny
Sunday - High of 86, low of 66; 60% chance of precip.; T-Storms

Looks like Saturday may be the best of the two days.  If you look at the national weather map, only the upper midwest has rain over the weekend...

Any chance we could just schedule the main match on Saturday with food and all, since Sunday is looking more and more iffy all the time?

As you are responsible for the weather, I would suggest that you make it good both days.  If you refuse to use your powers, Dice is the one who is doing the food this weekend.  I suspect that moving it to Saturday at this late date might not work as to his help or planning.  We could/should probably set up both canopies on Saturday morning before the shoot if possible.  As I remember their weight being substantial I would think we might be able to leave them up over night for Sunday.

Again I say why don't you (MGS) put the rain off until late Sunday afternoon.

I wish I had those kind of powers.  Looks like it will be coming in later on Saturday and then push on out Sunday evening.  Figures!  However, I did say that if you want different weather, contact Kocheese.  Now, HE has those devine abilities.

Well, here is what the National Weather Service is saying as of 3 PM today regarding Darien's weather for this weekend--

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low near 72. South wind between 14 and 18 mph.

Saturday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly cloudy, with a high around 92. Heat index values as high as 97. South wind 14 to 20 mph becoming east.

Saturday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind between 11 and 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Sunday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 7am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. West wind between 13 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Sunday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. West wind between 6 and 11 mph.

Definitely looks like dry shooting will be Saturday but not so lucky on Sunday.  It will be HOT though!

Has anyone called Dice regarding the food to see if tomorrow may work instead of Sunday?  He can do amazing things so it wouldn't surprise me if he could pull it off!!

I'm thinking that it might rain after Saturday and before and/or after Sunday, but not during the shoots.  That's what I'm requesting from the weather gods.  I'll even be happy to tear down the canopies in the rain as long as it holds off until we're done.  Can always go out to the range to dry everything out during the Wednesday practice shoot.

Haven't talked to Dice

Just returned from Kocheese Kanyon.  What a blast today!  It was hot and humid but the new stage designs/write ups were more challenging and a whole lot more fun.  If you are shooting on Sunday, believe you will really enjoy yourself.  Weather forecast for today was 40% chance of T-Storms.  Wrong!  It was a mostly blue sky and not a drop of precip in sight.  However, tomorrow's forecast isn't as positive.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.

For Sunday at Darien, WI:

Hi of 87, low of 68; 60% chance of T-Storms, primarily between 9 AM - 3 PM; scattered T-Storms

As they screamed at Woodstock in 1969 - "NO RAIN, NO RAIN, NO RAIN!!"

Mr Muddy Ga S - you do realize that being the official weatherman entails a 24/7 responsibility with at least hourly updates, not just for a brief period when you happen to want to go shooting.

Hey Muddy, can I also put you in charge of the weather for HUH next weekend? Thanks in advance, Big Grit

Grit, I will be out all of this coming week with no computer access so this will have to be my final forecast for next weekend's conditions at Oconomowoc. I will keep my fingers crossed (tho that didn't help at all for today...).

Thursday, June 22 -- High of 80, low of 64; 30% chance of precip.; isolated T-Storms
Friday, June 23 -- High of 74, low of 59; 20% chance of precip.; partly cloudy
Saturday, June 24 -- High of 78, low of 58; 30% chance of precip.; isolated T-Storms
Sunday, June 25 -- High of 76, low of 58; 0% chance of precip.; sunny

Suggest you go to google on the computer, type in weather.com and in the blank at the top where it asks for city or zip code, type in Oconomowoc, WI and it will give you weekend, 10 day, today, forecast.  That's where I get my wisdom.

Shoot quickly, accurately and be safe!
