I thought y'all would like to know Turkey Legs is being operated on today for her sholder. A kind word to the guy upstairs for a speedy recovery might just be the thing to do. ..........Bandit

If'n Magoo and I can make it through without any problems I suspect she'll do well.  Have asked that they post something on the wire to keep us in the loop regarding the surgery and her recovery, so I suspect we'll be hearing something in the immediate future.

Super! I hope all goes well on her physical therapy now so that she can make our first match!

2+ hours not counting recovery or pre-op is a long time, so she must have had a fair amount of work done.  Ther's always the "four pistol duelist" category if she ain't 100% by the end of April.

Keep us informed Bandit or perhaps Dry Fire could post here.  Either way I'm sure the posse wants to know how things are going.

Well cowboys and cowgirls I'm home and in some pain but it is finally over. Yes JJ I am taking the meds - lots and lots of meds! Seriously though when the doc got in there it was a more extensive repair then he first thought. I go back Monday to see him and start therapy right away

I guess he not only had to attach the rotor cuff back together but my clavicle was like a stalgatite on the end so it was also fraying the bicep tendon - so had to detach from oiginal site and reattach to he humours - so the recovery will be a little longer than expected.

Thank you for your thought and prayers.

Tina,

We're so glad you came through surgery successfully.  Now adhere to the Doctor's orders and therapy routine, and you'll do just fine....  Tell that ol grumpy guy he has to wait on you now. :whistling:

Our Prayers for a quick recovery and even faster times in '09!!!

All the best,

Good to see you at the keyboard.  Do what they tell you and you'll do fine.  Don't push it too far over what they tell you can be done.  In the beginning you won't want to anyway, believe me as you will find out shortly.  The first couple of weeks of PT were the worst for me and then you almost learn to enjoy the pain.

Priase God that the surgery went well.  By the time we get back to the NORTH you should be ready to rock and roll.
This is a bad time to have pain, because the cold only makes it worse.

Well all I can say is that therapy is everything it was supposed to be  :shok: and more. I didn't know - I say - I didn't know I could breath that way - oh wait yes I do during labor. The words and antics coming out of the other PT recepients - oh wait - that was me - was unbelievable  :whistling: Seriously though it hurt but the pain was worth it in the end.

Colt - I have been hearing that about the cold and how it affects people - but it will be ok - how are you doing and when is your surgery? Shoot me a PM.

WR -  John has been very helpful and patient (I know I can write this here b/c he won't know how to access this thead and read what I wrote)Thus keeping the mystery alive.

JJ - I'm getting my guns slicked up so I can join you in that there 4 duelist catergory  :gunfighter:

JJ - I'm getting my guns slicked up so I can join you in that there 4 duelist catergory

If you're serious about the four pistol duelist category I would like to put my name in first for the long list of volunteers who will be willing to shoot the shot gun for you.

I suspect that you will be able to handle the long guns by April though.  Maybe not as fast as you were and by the end of the match there could be some discomfort, but you should be able to handle them by April.  If not I would NOT recommend letting Grit do the shot gun because he did it one handed saying he wanted to keep things the same as what I was doing.  One handed with the 97 got a few misses in the stages.  Amazing that I was still able to place first in my category at all the shoots.

Mine was 6 hours, 2 doctors and 9 months recovery.  Lots of oxycotin for awhile.  Now it is better than the other one!  Wish you a speedy recovery!  Do the therapy!  When you can stand it, have a massage on that shoulder and arm, it will break up the scar tissue.  One of the best things I did for mine!
Happy New Year!
