The McGregor Iowa - Gun Show 2018 - March 9th, 10th & 11th

http://www.iowaantiquearmscollectors.com/

IOWA ANTIQUE ARMS COLLECTORS (IAAC) arms fair will be held at the MCGREGOR'S LANDING EVENT CENTER at 111 1st street McGregor, Iowa.

Collectors and dealers of hunting, antique, classic and investment grade firearms from around Minnesota,Iowa,Wisconsin, and Illinois will gather in McGregor. They will buy, sell and trade their wares twice a year. There are interesting and historical exhibits expected at every show. One can expect to see hunting guns, rare pieces of Americana, military collectibles, quality reference books, Civil War Arms and artifacts, hundreds of guns, knives and accessories. It will be a stroll through history while perusing the exhibits of 60 tables. The last show had a Colt Lightning rifle attributed to Buffalo Bill, Indian artifacts, and Revolutionary and Civil war muskets and rifles. One of the best treats was seeing a wonderful collection of Plains Rifles by Iowa gun makers. Advanced collectors were surprised to see a Winchester hockey stick and puck. The theme and intent of the McGregor Gun Show is to present original and reproduction guns and arms that were manufactured prior to 1950 along with contemporary collectable's. Antique gun buyers are confirming the belief that gun collections are "tangible assets" and seem to be solid investment in this unstable economy. While the stock market can vary by 6% to 10% in a single day, collectable firearms are proving to maintain value. The major antique gun auctions around the country are doing very well. The up coming show will include a Smith and Wesson display that will show such rarities as the Smith and Wesson Volcanic and include the S&W Scofield, S&W Russian, S&W New model 3 and more.

IAAC will always accommodate organizations for display space such as Fish & Game Clubs, Friends of the NRA, National Guard, Cowboy Action Shooting Clubs and Local clubs such as the Big River Long Rifles and the Hole In The Sock Gang.

The doors will open to the general public to buy sell or trade on Friday from 3:00PM to 8:00PM and Saturday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM CLOSED Sunday. General admission $6.00 both days. (don't forget to get a hand stamp to return) Children under 12 free with a parent. The collectors and dealers are always looking for items to purchase from the public. Before visiting the show, check the attic trunk for old military uniforms or war souvenirs, the back closet for Grandpa's old firearms or the garage for pack baskets, duck decoys, old animal traps or vintage fishing gear and bring it along to the show. Many exhibitors will be happy to perhaps purchase items, give an estimated value, or if needed written appraisals.

What may make the long trip worthwhile for this show is that it carries a lot of western/pioneer era merchandise and it is in the same city as the River Junction Trading Company, so if you're thinking of spiffing up your SASS / NCOWS / GAF wardrobe, you can try the stuff on, see how it fits and feels.
