Scholarship...

For those of you who were at the May shoot, this is a repeat, but I wanted to again say thanks to SASS and those who sponsored my kids... (DD, Dice, Grit, Kocheese & Longtooth)<br />
<br />
Leadfoot Lizzie & Sicilian Kid were both awarded $1,500.00 scholarships for the start of their college careers!<br />
<br />
Every dollar counts and I wish that I could come up with the words express how pleased we are to receive the help. The only possible way this could have been better was if we would have found out three days earlier. They had their awards night at the high school last Wednesday and I dearly would have loved to had it announced at that affair. Having school officials making a positive announcement connected with the shooting sports would give me the "warm fuzzies." There are some of their fellow students who have been acclimated to believe that they are some kind of freaks for their involvement with "GUNS."<br />

I'll be posting a thank you on the SASS Wire also, but wanted to wait until I find out if they want to make the announcement at EOT before I put something on the wire. <br />

They're both looking at about 30K a year and they are both about half way there with scholorships.<br />

Couldn't happen to a better pair of kids who have done so well in spite of parental handicap. Are you encouraging going to school so they won't be beating you quite so much? Wish mine had gone to college before he was married with 3 kids.

Potamus Kaye also got a scholarship and like Jewler Jim's, the letter came a little late. She got it a day after the scchool awards ceremony--I had been hoping to embarrass the heck out of her by having a Pard in full Cowboy gear present it to her.......<br />

My sincerest congrats to Lead Foot Lizzie and the Sicilian Kid. You couldn't find two finer kids. They are the epitomy of what SASS is all about!!!
