How to Get to the Dry Gulch Ranch Cowboy Range
Hope to see you there!!
I'm thinking of adding a new pair of pistols and I'd like to know what you pards think of 1875 Remingtons. I presently shoot Ruger Vaqueros, .357, 5 1/2" bar. I'd like to stay with that length.

The only thing that I would do differently is that I would buy the shorter barrel length that you're contemplating because there would be less muzzle rise after discharge.<br />
<br />
My 71/2 inchers tend to recoil a bit; .357/.38 might not rise up so much.<br />
<br />
The Remingtons do have a "cool" factor about them with the looks and all.<br />
<br />
I know Longtooth has a pair and I believe they are in .357/.38 and he likes them; he said that he saw mine at HUH one year and got himself a pair shortly afterwards.<br />
<br />
I haven't had anything done to mine; they could be a bit smoother and lighter on the trigger but they work fine for me so I've left that alone for now.<br />
<br />
I would say "get 'em", but, see what others have to say. <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbsup:' />

My son, Lt. B. R. Sharps, uses a pair of '75 Remmies and he loves them. They are in .45 Colt with 7 1/2" barrels and he doesn't have any problem with recoil or them rising up. We shoot 200 grains of lead pushed by 6.5 grains of W231. Load and guns are very accurate and since only REAL COWBOYS/Soldiers shoot .45 Colt....... <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/devil.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':devil:' /> <br />
<br />
Anyway, I concur with Ugly. I'd get 'em!!

Guess Wild Bill was a Girly Man
<br />
<br />
Oh, give me a break!! Wild Bill was just a sissie. :P <br />
<br />
Tooth is very right. It is much cheaper to load .38's than .45's. I figure I can load a box of .45's for around $6.50 (that doesn't include the cost of brass). Anyone got the figure they can share for what it costs to reload .38's?<br />
<br />
And, Tooth, if you've got to be a better shooter to use .38's, then I'll stick to my .45's. You've seen me shoot ... <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

Why PtBW, I tweren't aware you had such a nasty side.... "I'll open you up so we can all see what you had for breakfast..." Remind me never to make you mad! <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/idea.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':idea:' />
