HUH, Great Shoot...

Finally shot HUH with the kids, was the first time for all of us and of course my son beat me with it being the first time this year he's picked up the guns. Had a great time, but shot like crap. The only thing I did correct was in getting the shooter ranking to coincide with my second alias of "Father Jim". It's not easy getting your ranking number to come out exactly to the one you want. <br />

My daughter's pistols shot the front sight off on the last stage of the match and I'll post another diatribe about those little Cimarrons at a later date when I get a little closer to being caught up with the chores around the homestead this week. <br />

Also, was told that I have to find a pump gun that we can cut down and square away to make Lizzie a little more competitive. That Fox side by side is just to damn long for her size, but I guess people don't understand that if we do that, then she'll be beating me also. <br />

Forgot to mention that Lizzie shoot the last stage clean, even without a front sight on the pistol and you people want me to get her a better shotgun. What's gonna be left for me to use to beat her then? <br />

Maybe instead of fixing Lizzie's sight, you might take the other one off. If she shoots clean with one missing, just think what she could do with both missing.<br />

Our little Lizzie isn't even a doctor yet, and she seems to have discovered the secret to a clean shoot. Wouldn't surprise me if everyone was shooting without front sights at the next shoot. Don't misunderstand. She shot the stage clean with no front sight. She didn't shoot the match clean.<br />

Looking at a 97 (in 12 Ga) tomorrow that has been cut down considerably already. Might be the solution and then I'll have over a case of 20 Ga. for sale.

Well with any luck, Lizzie will have a diferent shotgun in use by the next match at Oconomowoc (bought a hundred year old 97). Big Grit is modifying it further (finished stock lenght 10 1/2 inches) and will be getting a new belt from Tooth. <br />
<br />
Hoping that it will take the rest of the year for her to get use to using it and I might be able to maintain some small scrap of pride in not getting beat till next year.

Don't get to shoot senior till next year. And frankley, the competition in that class is pretty stiff anyway.
