lead is getting expensive

I have three or four old lead weights that have been used as anchors for small boats. I've got weights of 10, 5 (2 of 'em), and one that is probably 6 or 7 pounds. Does anyone want these? Can they be melted down into lead for shooting ?

Most happy to take them off your hands, but you might want to put them up for the highest bidder. While the price for scrap is finally starting to come down ($1.30 a pound from over $1.50) it is still pretty ugly out there. Where you used to be able to get buckets of wheel weights for nothing I'm down to one source that lets me take it for free. Scrapers are now paying twenty bucks or more for the five gallon pails of the wheel weights so you can't blame the station owners for saving it for them. <br />

I'm betting that if you put this on the classified forum someone will give you cash where I'm to cheap to do so.
