I don't think I would call it a hunt. From what I heard you sit and the buffalo comes to a certain feeding area and you shoot. <br />

I personally would go the traditional way and use the Sharps. Good shooting Grunt. Save me a buffalo steak.

No question, go traditional if at all possible. I think that would increase the fun factor immensely.

I've seen buffalo hunts on TV and have been out west several times hunting mule deer, elk, etc. I think you can make this hunt whatever you want it to be. I don't think you need to have it like shooting fish in a barrel. You can stalk them, run them to a spot, wait til they come to water or food, etc,; basically it's whatever type of hunt you design based on your guide. You can also shoot them at whatever range you prefer - you don't have to wait til they are 20 feet away . . . I wouldn't use anything other than a Sharps .45-70 if I were going. I would surely practice a bunch so you can make a clean one shot kill. And, I would want it to be a stalking hunt so it was like in the old times. I am envious - have a safe and great hunt! <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/clapping.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':clapping:' />

Give Mike a call at the Dam Road Gun shop in Delavan. He has been known to carry a Sharps now and then. He might just have what you need/want. His shop number is 262.728.5390. He is a member of the Good Guys Posse and always treats everyone right!!
