As you can see, I've upgraded the site to the new version. There are still many small things I need to tweak but to do it right I needed to get hooked up to the database. Some things haven't been transferred over yet like our emoticons and such. Given time, I'll get them taken care of - probably in the next few days. If you find anything that isn't right, please let me know as I may not be aware of them and every browser has a few glitches that have to be considered.<br />

You may find that the board shows many topics that you haven't read when you have. Simply go to that forum and look on the right side under "New Topic" and you will see "Mark this forum as read" - just click it and you are back to normal. The reason many things like this didn't get transferred is that since the version is so different from the previous one there was no practical way to do it.

The screen is sized for a modern monitor of 1024 pixels or more wide. I don't think anything with less resolution has been sold in the past 5 years. Unfortunately, to pack everything in there I have to keep that width. Sorry.

Slowly but surely I'm adding the rest of the stuff we usually have. I just finished putting the Schedule, Scores & Links on the upper menu - right below the rotating photo. If you know of any other handy menu items you would like to see there, let me know.

Another new feature - you can post links to youtube and similar videos and have them play on the forum page. On the posting form, to the right of the "insert image" boxes, etc., is a "Insert media" box.<br />

Please be careful what you post as some of them can get pretty nasty. <br />

Just a quick question about avatars. I posted a reply the other day, and my avatar showed just like it should. My question is about the upper right of the main screen - where it states your log in name and the fact that you are logged in. There appears to be a place for your avatar there, but mine just shows the generic entry. Is this correct?<br />

The place you are speaking of is supposed to be for your photo, not your avatar, and it is also on your settings page. However, there is a problem right now with uploading personal photos. Well.......you won't. At this point there are some incompatibilities between my little spinning cowboy hats and the main structure of the board that are beyond my meager skills to overcome. Without getting too technical, the new board in it's present form does not support the sort of animation I used in the cowboy hats in the forum view. But I will eventually be replacing the drab folders with something more "cowboy" in the near future.<br />

I've been spending the day working on the website. Many colors corrected - no more blue where I'm allowed to change it. And the folders showing read and unread topics have been replaced with 44-40 cartridge bases - the ones with live primers are unread, while the dim, spent primers are read. Hope this makes sense to everybody. On the main page where the forums are listed, you can click on a live primer to show that forum as read without having to go to it - like popping bubble wrap!

As before, when you have 100 posts minimum you can go into your settings & profile and change the line of text that appears just below your avatar on your posts & replies.
