Colt style 1878 Side-by-Side Mule Ear Shotgun <br />

This entry into the Classic Cowboy thumb-buster shotguns gets two thumbs up!<br />
<br />
Imported by T.T.N. International, Inc., the 1878 Colt replica model follows the original Colt design and is one heavy-duty shotgun. The gun weights only 7 lbs. The 20 barrels are chambered to take 3" 12 gauge shells and the forcing cone is moved forward for reduced felt recoil. The one-piece barrel rib providing more barrel contact area and perfect barrel alignment. Shot patterns at point of aim and are right on for steel knock down targets from ten to fifteen yards.<br />

Another plus is the 1878 has rebounding hammers, which means that if you slip off a hammer during cocking, there is no danger of inadvertently firing a round. This is also the safety. If the triggers are not pulled in, the hammers will not contact the firing pins.<br />
