How to Get to the Dry Gulch Ranch Cowboy Range

Hope to see you there!!

First Match At The Canyon

Well I for one had a good time yesturday and here are some of the reasons:
1. Meeting and talking to everyone I haven't seen in a while. (Congrats to Mockingbird and his wife on the up coming little one)
2. Shooting with a great bunch of guys (Way to go Big R with the clean shoot!)
3. The new loading and unloading tables look great!
4. The splatter fences worked great!
5. Was it me or did it seem the targets on the speed stage were out a little to far - or are they smaller than last year? When I figure out why I missed three I guess I can answer my own question!!!!!
6. Seeing 4 new shooters and one of them being a WOMEN!
7. BEATING THE RAIN!

Hey Dasterdly Dan from earlier posts you were working over the idea on how to cover the shooting tables - I thought the car mat on Stage 1 was a great idea - just maybe cut the edges off - if they get wet all we have to do is wipe them off. Just a thought.
• Thanks Turkey Legs!
This was my first trip back to the canyon since the new range was finished, you folks did a fantastic job down there. Really a nice venue for cowboy shooting! <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yahoo.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':yahoo:' />

Thanks for the kind words! The Posse members donated much muscle and money during the off-season to get things upgraded for this summer.

Hats off to them all!! <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yahoo.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':yahoo:' /> <img src='http://www.goodguysposse.org/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yahoo.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':yahoo:' />
We still have a few little things to finish up and Wyatt's saloon to erect, but we are now at the point where the shooting areas are essentially complete. Who would have thought back last July that we could have progressed so far in so little time and it's all due the efforts of the fine folks we have on the Posse!
PS - We now have 90 badge-toting members of the Good Guys Posse!
  • GOOD JOB, GOOD GUYS!

This was my first time at the new venue. Although I always enjoyed the walk in the woods, the new range is certainly more efficient and probably a little safer.

It was good seeing many old friends and meeting some new folks as well, Mad Dog LeBeau, Blue Moon Johnny, Animal and Whip L. Tree come to mind. Welcome!

Again, good job guys. Mr. Kocheese, thank you for providing the real estate and guidance. Thanks GGP for promoting our sport and providing all the hard work to make it happen.

See yall soon.

Yes the targets on the speed stage are a little further back. Actually, we moved the firing line on stages one through four back a ways. And yes the check in was a little convoluted and confused, but Hopefully Dolly won't be taken by other responsibilities for the other shoots (she's much better organized than I and it was my first attempt.).

I think you'll see other slight improvements if we ever get in one of our two days shoots with the canopies, food and other niceties that a Sunday shoot will have. Most of the Rough Riders will be wandering around on Sunday to make sure things are right and will try to get their shooting in on Saturday.

As the season progresses we look for input from the posse and we will pretend to..., I mean we will listen to all suggestions for improvements. I can't wait for Wyatt's saloon that will be installed on stage five with the jail being moved to stage four.

Well I better shut up now as I get yelled at a lot for talking to much. The rough riders are all very mean to me at all times. Don't know why?

If he gets too loquacious, just let me know and I'll boot him off the HP for a few days until he cools down.
It's not so much the long lenghtly sentences!!! It's that rotten color he uses. I think he does that on purpose so we can all *beep* about it. I guess I just gave him more fuel.

It's the color of rotting meat, what did you expect?
