URGENT ALERT – YOUR ACTION NEEDED

MAGAZINE BAN SET FOR A VOTE ON TUESDAY

House Speaker Michael Madigan and his gun-grabber pals have just reintroduced their magazine ban asAmendment 12 to HB1156.

THIS MAGAZINE BAN WILL BE UP FOR A VOTE ON TUESDAY

If this ban passes, you will have to go down to the police station and register your magazines that hold more than 10 rounds and you will have to sign an oath that you will never sell them to anyone else.

GUESS HOW MANY CRIMINALS WILL BE REQUIRED TO REGISTER THEIR MAGAZINES? THE ANSWER IS ZERO!

Of course, sales of new magazines holding more than 10 rounds would be BANNED.

It’s very important that you make these calls. We realize that you’ve been called upon to act many times so far this year. But your continued support is crucial. Madigan and the gun-grabbers are hoping that you will get tired of defending your rights.

MADIGAN NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND THAT WE WILL NEVER GET TIRED OF DEFENDING OUR RIGHTS!

HERE IS WHAT YOU MUST DO TO PROTECT YOUR RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS

1. Call your state representative and politely tell them you are a law-abiding gun owner who objects to magazine bans. Politely advise them to vote NO on Amendment 12 – the magazine ban. If you do not know who your state representative is, then the Illinois State Board of Elections has a new interactive search page here:
www.elections.state.il.us/DistrictLocator/DistrictOfficialSearchByAddress.aspx

If you know who your representative is, you can find their contact info here:
www.ilga.gov/house/.

2. Post this alert to any and all Internet Bulletin Boards or blogs to which you subscribe.

3. Pass this alert on to your friends and family and ask them to call their legislators as well.

If high capacity magazines are so evil, why are they selling so fast that stores can't keep them in stock and why are they commanding scalper's prices in the private market? I've had an order in for .40 mags at glockstore for over a month and a non-cowboy co-worker has had an order in for 9mm mags for over two months. A perusal of web forums suggest the same conditions exist with their online competitors. Kel-Tec PMR-30 magazines (suggested retail - $30) have sold for over $100 on Gunbroker. Springfield Armory in Geneseo, Illinois, has been limiting pistol magazine sales to 5 per order and M1A rifle magazine sales to 3 per order for months now.

Of course, the answer is that firearm magazines are not evil, anti-gun politicians are the evil loose in this country. The local Gander Mountain couldn't keep small capacity mags for Ruger LCP and LC9 on the shelves despite charging $10 more than normal online pricing. Many bloggers report the big-box stores in some areas can't stock enough .22lr ammo (hardly the downtown Chicago gang-bangers caliber of choice). If only longtime firearms enthusiasts were stocking up, the rush should have been over by now. Of course, Mr. Obama (gun salesman of the decade) is contributing to the ammo shortage a bit by buying his peeps 1.6 billion rounds of 9mm and .40 S&W ammo, but that doesn't explain the shortage of cowboy ammo, unless U.S. Marshals are reverting to single-action revolvers and haven't announced it publicly yet.

If the Chicago despots aren't careful, they are going to drive some manufacturing jobs out-of-state (side note: Janesville, WI has some free manufacturing space and I wouldn't mind having a Springfield Armory or Rock River Arms factory outlet store in town...). I suppose that is a trivial concern in light of the pursuit of a freedom-free socialist nanny state which so many Cook County pols are working hard for.
