How to Get to the Dry Gulch Ranch Cowboy Range

Hope to see you there!!

FYI Cheeseheads!

dddd Gnome, gnome on the range!
The CCW bill approved by the Illinois House (subject to change) provides for a non-resident CCW permit. But at a cost of $300 for 5 years - double the cost to residents. The Bill also includes a provision to develop a new drivers license that would include FOID and CCW authorization. What card is in your wallet?

It's coming folks! It won't be long. But hard to say what it will be after the antis in the Senate get done "massaging" it.

Comments

  • Does that mean that an out of state person has to get an Illinois CCW to carry when in or passing through the state? Will they recognize any other state's CCW?
I was figuring the anti-gunners in Chicago and Cook County would push for NO reciprocity just to be jerks about it, but maybe so many people have moved just outside the state and drive back into Illinois to work, they feel the revenue will be worth the embarrassment of having more law-abiding people carrying concealed than law-breaking people carrying concealed in the state of Illinois for a change. Perhaps the Illinois Tourism Bureau will subsidize the costs of required training for out-of-state permit applicants.

It would be nice to see a few "Bystanders 4, Gangbangers 0" scores on the front page of the Chicago Tribune.
Okay, like I've been saying for a while now; "Nothing is passed and/or signed into law and quite possibly nothing will be passed or signed into law."

If these smucks don't pass anything it will then go to "constitutional carry" (any and all allowed to carry) and somebody will have to get arrested to make a test case out if it with it then getting drug through the court system for a nice long long time.

Hope I'm wrong but that would be the way I see it going down as they only have until adjournment tomorrow unless they somehow extend the session...

I didn't say anything was passed or signed, I merely stated what the bill the House previously passed last week (subject to change) said. If you read it you will see what I mean.

No, nothing is passed but it is always interesting to read these amendments and watch all the politicos scurry around trying outdo each other.

If nothing gets passed, perhaps the next IGOLD march should be with people packing concealed weapons. 5000 test cases setting off the metal detectors at the Capitol building in Springfield might rate a story in the Chicago Tribune.

Supposedly the Smucks have reached a "COMPROMISE" that I believe leaves in home rule. If that's the case it's close to worthless. Will the state publish a listing of every town, township, county, etc. rules so that as you drive around in the state you can pull over and put your weapon away and then rearm yourself. Or in the case of Shitcago be arrested for having certain weapons period?

If they pass this crap it will be the continued laughing stock for the U.S. only thing close is Kalifornia.

Is this the point in the story where the Mayor Emmanuel's or Governor Quinn's heads start doing 360° turns and hurling green goop?
Should we be gluing crosses to our bullets like Eric Fleming in "Curse of the Undead"? (Head 'em up, Glue 'em out!)
Yeah, I understand the crappiness of home rule. I imagine it would be worse than California, with their "Fruits and Nuts" mix of community gun laws. I wonder if it would result in major housing shifts, and even some businesses relocating across county lines or outside city limits, depending on the creation of local restrictions?

On the bright side, imagine a chain of "Last safe place to gas up before entering Chicagoland" convenience stores surrounding Cook County. The usual gas and food, plus loading/unloading booths, gun lockers - rent by the hour, day or year, free wi-fi so you can e-mail your loved ones before entering indian territory (no disparagement towards native Americans or people from the country of India implied).
